The national workplace health programme, Workplace Challenge has launched the ‘My Team 2015’ campaign. Workplace Challenge is on a mission to motivate employees to join up with their colleagues and take a team approach to getting active in 2015. You could even take part in your Run England group!

Because we spend up to 60% of our waking hours at work, the workplace is a great place to introduce new, healthy habits. And the message from Workplace Challenge is that the best way to do this is to make it sociable.
‘My Team 2015’ will run throughout the year but will kick off with an eight-week long challenge running until 1st March 2015.

workplace challengeEmployees across England are invited to join together with colleagues to win points for their workplace by taking part in sports and other physical pursuits during this period and logging them using Workplace Challenge’s online activity logging tool.

Why not join in with your Run England group and see how your Beginner runner team shapes up to other local teams?  Or encourage workmates to join your Run England group?  A minimum of three registered employees are required for a workplace to appear in a leader board and people can also track their own individual progress locally and nationally.  Can we beat last year’s participation figure of over 18000 people and 3735 workplaces?

In addition to clocking up points and enjoying the competitive team spirit, active loggers will also have access to the new social functions such as a ‘refer a friend’ and will be encouraged to share their team goals (and nominations) via social media using #MyTeam2015.

So make your running group part of ‘My Team 2015’ and be part of encouraging people all over the country!
