Run Activator reaches out to Liverpool locals
20 October 2015
Our Merseyside Run Activator Nikki Holding has liaised with the local press and reached out to Liverpool locals to encourage more people to get out running.
She was contacted by Sophie Whiteside who reports on the local athletics scene for Liverpool Echo Newspaper, and who wanted to do an article showcasing what running opportunities are out there in Liverpool for runners of all abilities
Nikki gave Sophie a run-down of her job role, what’s existing in Liverpool, what opportunities are out there and where to go to find out more information.
Nikki's role includes, "Engaging with existing and new run groups as well as qualified Running Fitness Leaders to provide continuous support and advice to develop new groups and sustain existing ones. I support every aspect of running whether that is walk to run groups, promotion of events and links with athletics clubs.”
She added, "As an Activator I can support some funding towards the cost of the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course and am always willing to support and offer advice for any one and any group wanting to be set up as a Run England group."
The Liverpool Echo report was then written by the journalist and you can read the full article by clicking here.
