One year on – which volunteers have made a difference to your running?

With this weekend marking the first anniversary of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, now is the time to nominate a volunteer who has helped you!

We may be celebrating the golden year of 2012 this weekend, but many volunteers across the country started their fantastic work long before then and have been doing great things ever since!

Each athlete who represented Team GB at the Olympic and Paralympic Games would have been helped along the way by many people. The England Athletics Awards honour those people who have served the sport in their area with awards presented in each of our nine regions and national award winners honoured alongside the England Athletics Hall of Fame inductees at the Awards night on 19 October.

The work of Run England groups, projects and of course group leaders is honoured by its own special category at the England Athletics Awards. So we want to know who makes the difference to running where you are. Nominations can be easily submitted online so why not put forward those people who should be honoured for their work in running in your area?
