Welcome to a Trust10 trail route part of the National Trusts trail running initiative http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/try-a-trust10-trail-run. Our Trust10 trail runs are your opportunity to escape into and explore some of the beautiful surroundings at our places. You can join for 2k, 4k, 6k, and for the more adventurous, do the complete 10k circuit. You are able to run the routes and use the cafe at any time during normal visitor opening (subject to any weather restrictions) and you do not need to be a member. If you are a member, don't forget your card and enjoy the gardens and house before or after your run.
The Trust10 at Montacute is a 2, 5k loop around the parkland and fields of this Elizabethan mansion http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/montacute-house . You'll enjoy a few ups and downs as the route winds through the parkland offering glimpses of the house from the Lime and Oak avenues.  As a working estate the  route can become wet and muddy  and there can be livestock in the fields throughout the year. Dogs are welcome on a short lead, please check the website for up to date information on where else they can go.
Park in the main visitor carpark during normal visitor opening or in Back Lane if the gates are closed and make your way via the signs to the parkland.  In times of adverse weather please check the website  and look out for any onsite signs.  If running alone we advise you to take a mobile phone.
