About this run route

Start / Finish

Very far end of National Trust car park

Welcome to West Dorset and one of the most breathtaking Trust10 trail routes in the country. Trust10 https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/trust10-trail-runs is the National Trusts trail running initiative aimed at complimenting parkrun and extending recreational running to 10k.

Here at Stonebarrow, you can run the route whenever you would like, as the trail is marked with pink markers to guide you around. Currently we are not able to offer the monthly run but hope to do so in the future. If you are interested and would like to know more please drop us a line running@nationaltrust.org.uk.

With a figure of 8 route dropping off from the Old Radar Station at Stonebarrow before a challenging climb up and over Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast, this is a 10k that is not for the faint hearted. Although with the figure of 8 loop, you can treat top and bottom of the 8 as a separate circuit and can park at Langdon Hill woods.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
