About this run route

Start / Finish

Knoll Beach cafe

Your opportunity to enjoy the National Trusts Purbeck estate with a waymarked route that takes in a variety of terrain including some sections on quiet roads. Heading out from Knoll Beach, along the beach and the South West Coast Path before climbing to Ballard Down. Enjoy the breathtaking view across to Poole and Bournemouth before turning and heading around a woodland circuit and back onto  the quiet roads and beach you set out from. https://youtu.be/FaHgpHDQjgc

Keep an eye on the weather and parts of the route may be affected by tides at times. This landscape relies on livestock grazing so you may come across cows and sheep at times.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.

This route is part of the National Trust's Trust10 trail running initiative aiming to extend recreational running to 10km with a free event at 9am on the 4th Sunday of the month.
