New Year, new challenge, new experience

After a holiday in Nepal at the Everest Base Camp and surrounding area, Devon Road Runner Mark and his wife Lorraine decided to organise a running event there to help locals following the earthquakes.

It's just three months to go until you could be in Nepal participating (walk or run) in the first ultra event in the remote Nepalese area near Everest Base Camp.

The 10th April 2016 sees a half marathon, marathon and ultra-marathon take place hosted by the village of a local qualified guide Binay Lama, with signed routes, and marshals to help everyone enjoy the trails, followed by a traditional Nepalese party and food.

"Binay says, "I am waiting to welcome you to Nepal and introduce you to our country, culture and to show real part of Nepal in my countryside village.
In the earthquake last April thousands of people became homeless and thousands of people died. Still many school children are studying in Temporary Learning Center. If anybody would like to join in this event to support for villagers and school you are heartily welcome and support for Nepal."

Organiser Lorraine added, "Just 3 more people participating would provide enough funding to get 2 houses built."
