Join In launches its 'Run It' campaign to support running event volunteers

Join In – the London 2012 Legacy charity which works to connect people with local sports volunteering opportunities – has launched its ‘Run It’ campaign to support running and athletics across the UK.  They have produced a video to demonstrate and celebrate the work of volunteers in running, and to encourage others to get involved and help to Run It.

We know our sport is built on the enthusiasm and expertise of volunteers so we are working with Join In to get more people enjoying being involved in athletics and running as volunteers.  The following film shows what it takes to put on a run - how what volunteers help in the organisation of track and road racing - those such as Ben Pochee who is the event organiser of the recent Highgate Night of 10,000m PBs, Terry Fardell the Bognor Prom 10k organiser and Karl Cadman who is Hockley Woods parkrun's Event Director.
