Learning Disability Week is coming soon
03 June 2015
Run England are working with Mencap to support National Learning Disability Week. Learning Disability Week 2015 will take place from the 15th - 21st June and we are encouraging clubs, networks and running groups to plan ahead and get involved.
Here are some ideas of what you could do:
- Support coaches, leaders and club volunteers to increase their knowledge about working with people with a learning disability: click here for the SCUK Impairment Specific Factsheet on Learning Disability or contact your local CCSO.
- Get in touch with your local Mencap group to tell them about your club or running group, invite people along to your sessions or run a taster session at their group: www.mencap.org.uk/local-groups
- Find out more about classification of athletes with a learning disability: click here.
- Find out more about Easy Read and how you can make your information more accessible for people with a learning disability: www.mencap.org.uk/easyread
