The England Athletics Hall of Fame and National Volunteer Awards night saw volunteers from across the country honoured to celebrate their service to the sport. This included the Run England Awards for Leader, Group and Project of the Year.

Coaches, officials and other volunteers from across England were joined by Athletics Greats from the past at the England Athletics Hall of Fame and National Volunteer Awards sponsored by Athletics Weekly, Sunwise, Sweatshop and in partnership with the AAA.

The night saw volunteers from across the country honoured in the National Volunteer Awards to celebrate their dedication and service to the sport. This included three Run England awards: for Leader, Group and Projects of the Year.

Monika Yarnell, 2013 Leader of the Year said that the award was also for her husband John who has done it all with her, as well as for Abbi McMullen from Run England Bucks who "encouraged me to start leading a group of my own and has supported and encouraged me. It all snowballed from there to Mums with buggies and organising parkrun Ayesbury."

The Active Norfolk and Suffolk Sport Running Project has made a significant impact to beginner running across the two counties and won the Project of the year, and Gainsborough & Morton Striders won Group of the Year. Gainsborough & Morton's Club Secretary Kevin Housham said: "I'd like to thank every volunteer, every helper and every runner in the club, especially Paul Dag for initiating the "Couch 2 5K" programme that's been so successful."

We congratulate all our Volunteer Award winners and hope that they continue their good work for the sport, and inspire others to do the same!
