First Run England group are ready to host Try Athletics Day
19 December 2011
Warwick WASPS have become the first Run England group to register to host a Try Athletics Day, marking 100 days to go until London 2012. The WASPS are hosting this event as part of England Athletics’ 'Are you ready?' campaign as the sport gets ready for London 2012.
By signing up to host a Try Athletics Day, groups will be supported by a national marketing campaign and provided with guidelines and resources to help plan and run their event. A Try Athletics Day offers a great chance for running groups to promote themselves in their local community and let the public try running and be part of the Olympics’ premier sport!
Warwick WASPS have yet to confirm the details of their event but are taking advantage of this nationwide event to get more people involved and raise the profile of their group with 100 days to go until London 2012.
Clubs and groups can host a Try Athletics Day between 16th and 20th April 2012 and at a time they chose. Groups will have flexibility on how to format their event but will be supported with resources.
