Over 30 Run Leaders recently attended a free Leader Development Workshop hosted by Run Kent. The workshop was facilitated by Sarah Russell, Consultant Editor of Running Fitness Magazine, Founder of ‘Sarah’s Runners’, Biomechanics & Corrective Exercise Specialist.

The workshop covered a number of topics which proved very popular with the attendees: Nutrition for Runners plus key Strength & Conditioning exercises. The Leaders also had a chance to network & share best practise throughout the afternoon.

Sarah Russell said: “It’s always a real pleasure to deliver these workshops for Run Kent. All the Leaders I meet are very inspirational and it’s great to be able to support them in developing their leadership knowledge and skills.”

Lucy Tomlinson, Running Activator for Run Kent, said: “We’re very grateful to Sarah for sharing her knowledge and expertise on the day. The topics proved extremely interesting and the feedback from the Leaders is very positive. The combination of presentation style discussions and outdoor activities go down well and the Leaders always go away with lots of new ideas and knowledge to pass on to their Groups.”

This is the ninth workshop that the Run Kent Project has hosted in the last two years. These workshops are just one of the ways Run Kent supports its Leaders in return for all the fantastic work that they do in getting more people running in Kent.
