Yesterday BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, 38, completed the Eden Project Half Marathon in a time of two hours 15 minutes and 40 seconds.

Scott, who was raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society UK,  said: "It was tough, I didn't realise there were going to be so many hills. I'm really pleased that I can run for such a good cause, it's something that's close to my heart.

"I haven't been to the Eden Project before but as I was running down the hill to the finish I thought 'wow, that's incredible'. It looks brilliant and it's definitely something I would come back to.

"I've never seen anything like it before in my life. Everyone in Cornwall is super-friendly and really encouraging and has been all weekend. It's something I'd definitely do again."

By running this event Scott has earned himself a very respectable runbritain handicap score of 27.3. The system factors in the degree of difficulty of the course and so the hills that Scott had to tackle will have been taken into account. To get his score down to 27.2 the system calculates he will need to run the distance in 2:14:01 or 2:12:11 if it is on a faster course.

If you have done an event recently, head over to www.runbritain.com and claim your own handicap - it works in a similar way to golf handicaps and is quick, easy and totally free.
