New running events set up in London

Two fantastic race opportunities have been set up in the South London area by a family business for runners of all abilities to test themselves in an event and raise money for charity.

Kellystore Funraisers aim to set up well organised sporting events in the areas around their warehouses with every penny raised going to a local charity.

The first two events - in Dartford and Guildford - will be trail runs and walks, though ancient forest and riverside meadows and are aimed at everyone, from the serious and not so serious runners to walkers and families. Each event will include 5k and 10k distances with chip timing, a mass warm up, fully marked courses, on site refreshments and prizes for all.

Joyden’s Woods Run and Walk, in aid of The Parents Consortium, takes place on Sunday 18 September. It includes undulating 5k and 10k courses on wide open woodland paths, single forest tracks and bridleways, with the 10k course exploring more deeply into the forest, as well as a 2k walk.

Run England’s Regional Activator Lynne Atkinson will be at the event in Dartford to tell participants about how Run England can help them prepare for their next event, along with local Run England Group Leaders and members from the Foxtrotters group based at Danson Park in Bexley who will be taking part.

On Sunday 16 October is the Guildford Riverside Walk and Run, in aid of Disability Challengers. There will be a flat 5k loop along river and lakeside paths and through meadows and woods, while 10k runners will do two laps. Walkers can choose to do either the 5k or an extended 7k distance.
