If you could run anywhere in the world, where would it be?

January Inspiration

To cheer us all up in January, when here in England the skies are grey and days are short, we took to social media to ask our followers, if they could run anywhere in the world where would it be?

We have had a great response from runners across England, sharing their happy places, something we want to share to inspire us all.

Mountain VS Beach

For many it’s all about the scenery. Mountains were popular, with people commenting “Take us to the mountains”.

Also popular were beaches. Long Beach Vancouver Island at 7am was highlighted by Facebook user Malcom as a special place. Long Beach is aptly named being 16km in length situated within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

We also had a few shout outs for beaches in New Zealand, which are open daily from sunrise to sunset for recreational use, and as a country New Zealand is one of the safest in the world, a dream running destination for many.

Thinking of what the UK can offer, Instagram user Jess reminded us that Woodland trails are fun for summer exploring too.

Happy Places

We also had some very specific happy places, an unnamed location but a temperature of 15 degrees and sunny! Instagram user Serena’s happy place is around his / her parents’ home back in Hungary; and for Twitter user Kevin he talked of the simple pleasure of running up and down their street, something they had done on and off for the last 40 years. Now as a blind runner they use a treadmill in the garage.

Another social media user highlighted Norway as a place they have not been, but a dream running destination for the future. She explained her dream of running half the time in the dark day times with snowy weather, and half during the midnight light times. And she would like to run with the Run Together group “Dave’s Babe’s” a lovely group of runners she was part of when she lived in Cornwall. Well, if its good enough for the Ingebrigtsen family then why not!

Let's RunTogether!
