Are you a qualified Run Leader based in London or the South West?

Do you have a passion for protecting the planet?

If the answers to these questions are 'yes' then read on....

We are pleased to announce that through our partnership with Planet Earth Games (a charity aiming to protect people and the planet through the power of sport and physical activity) to support our sustainability work, an opportunity has arisen through their funding for five paid coordinators to co-ordinate a Plogging project.

They are looking for five qualified LiRF or CiRF people, one in each of these areas:

  • Brent (London)
  • Newham (London)
  • Barking and Dagenham (London)
  • Bristol
  • Exeter

What is Plogging?

Plogging is a sustainable activity that involves jogging and collecting litter. The term comes for the Swedish term plocka upp meaning “to pick up”. Plogging originated in Sweden but has become popular across the globe. This activity means you can get your dose of physical activity and do something positive for the planet. All that is really needed for plogging is gloves and a bin bag and to ensure your route takes you by bins and recycling points.

Funded Opportunity

There is a funded opportunity for 5 Run Leaders across the areas listed above to organise monthly plogging sessions in their communities. Due to the funding source, only Run Leaders able to support projects in these areas should apply but we really encourage all Run Leaders to consider whether plogging is something that they could launch in their communities.
