Help families Get Going this summer
16 July 2014
Running Groups are being invited to get involved in a project, backed by the Change4Life campaign and Disney, which is aiming to help people Get Going this summer.
Get Going is all about providing fun and exciting ways for people to get active over the summer. Groups can register activities that are suitable for youngsters or others to come along and get involved in, which will then be promoted as part of Get Going.
Get Going will have the full Change4Life marketing support and will also be pushed to consumers as part of the Disney-supported 10 Minute Shake Up initiative aimed at children and their families.
Ideally it is hoped that those who support more people to become more active, more often will host events on or around the weekend of the 26-27 July to celebrate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic Games. But activities through July and August can be registered.
To upload your events to the online event finder, visit www.get-going.org.uk/manage.asp.
The BBC’s Get Inspired campaign is also underway and another great way of promoting your group to a potentially huge audience with the Commonwealth Games starting next week. Find out more about BBC Get Inspired at www.runengland.org/getinspired.
