Group leaders invited to Open Forum with Salazar and Stewart
21 August 2014
As part of the City of Birmingham's (BCC) build towards the Great Birmingham Run and in developing the Running themes we are integrating within the broader Strategy for the sport, England Athletics are delighted to be able to confirm that we are finalising a very special Open Forum - in Birmingham, on Friday 22 August - two days prior to the Birmingham Diamond League.
We have been able to secure an Elite panel of guests that will offer a wonderful insight into Endurance running to the very highest level. We will be joined by Alberto Salazar (coach to Mo Farah and Galen Rupp as well as being a World Class endurance athlete in his own right) and Ian Stewart (European and Olympic medallist).
It will be your chance to find out what it takes to develop endurance talent and learn more about how plans for running, athletics and events within the City are being developed. There will be interviews with our Panel Guests and the opportunity to quiz them on their experiences and how Running has been such a big part of their lives - and why!
Places for this unique event will be limited and anyone wishing to attend will need to contact us via this email address - andyp3067@gmail.com) to confirm attendance ASAP, but it will be on a first come first served basis.
Please forward this to fellow Endurance Coaches, Run Leaders, Athletes and others that may be interested.
If you cannot join us for this Friday's event but would still be interested in receiving information from BCC with regards to Running, Great Run Local, Active Parks and local Running Groups - as to how you could become involved - then please reply to the address listed above to confirm addition to the mailing list.
