Sweatshop, the nation’s favourite running retailer and partner to England Athletics and Run England, sets its sights on expansion in 2014, starting with new stores opening in Norwich and Oxford!

Amongst the work Sweatshop and England Athletics/Run England do together is Sweatshop's support for registered athletes and Run England members which sees them benefit from discounts on kit and running shoes.

For over 40 years, Sweatshop has been helping runners of all abilities to Be The Best They Can Be bringing them the largest choice of the very best running equipment available on the market backed by advice and information on products, nutrition, training and technique. With university level training on specialist areas including biomechanics, nutrition and breast health/specialist bra fitting, the teams are renowned for their customer service, receiving the accolade for the best running retailer in the annual Runner’s World Personal Best Awards for the past 7 years consecutively. What's more, Run England members receive a £15 special offer voucher for Sweatshop running shoes.

2014 sees expansion planned in areas where Sweatshop has traditionally lacked a retail presence; the first two new stores are opening in March in Westlegate, Norwich and Gloucester Green, Oxford, making the total number of current stores 40.

At the end of last year, Sweatshop strengthened its presence in the North West by opening a store in Manchester Chill Factore - creating a five-store strong network around the Manchester conurbation centred on the Arndale Centre Sweatshop.

Sweatshop last year also successfully launched a new web platform offering consumers their biggest ever choice of specialist running brands and products; at the same time their Run Hub offers news items, information, advice, help and support to runners nationwide.

Sweatshop’s complete involvement in the local running community starts with their own Sweatshop Running Community (SRC, #yellowarmy) by offering free weekly running groups with rewards for running for all runners, irrespective of age and ability and led by qualified Run England run leaders. Their Track Club, the Young Athletes programme has seen young runners grow and advance to compete at national and international level. The company works closely with events and local races, schools, parkruns locally and nationwide as well as England Athletics, and Jogging Buddy...

Gill Thomas, Marketing Director of Sweatshop said: "We are thrilled to be opening Sweatshop in Norwich and Oxford, offering runners the chance to experience our unrivalled customer service, the best choice of technical running gear, as well as the support and training advice through our Sweatshop Running Community weekly runs. We hope to see our yellow army pounding the parks and streets there soon."
