Kent running group’s run in the sun!

The sun shone on Cranbrook Joggers running group in Kent at the Goudhurst 5K and 10K where they proved that if you put your mind to it, it’s possible to achieve what was once unimaginable (and have fun too!).

For many of the 14 who took part it was their first ever event and for one lady it was the first time she had run 5km without stopping and a testament to the effort she’d put in during some of the days over the winter!

Sam Lloyd and Julia Moen, group leaders at Cranbrook Joggers said: “It was absolutely brilliant. We are so proud of them all. It’s been a long cold winter for our runners, but the weather on the day was perfect.  The sun shone and the atmosphere was very friendly.  The run itself was stunning through some beautiful Kent countryside.  It all went so well that many of our runners are already planning their next event!”

Lucy Tomlinson, Kent Running Activator, said: “For many beginner runners, completing a 5K or 10K event seems an impossible goal but as Cranbrook Joggers have shown, with the right support and encouragement from their group leaders, these distances are achievable. Sam and Julia are such enthusiastic leaders and to see so many of their ‘joggers’ complete their first event is a great achievement.”
