RunThrough Bushy Park 10K
13 February 2013
If you or your running group are looking for a flat, scenic 10K in or around London in the next month, look no further than the RunThrough Bushy Park 10K.
The RunThrough Bushy Park 10K will be held on March 10th 2013 and is aimed at beginner runners. The event is held in the 2nd largest of London’s Royal Parks which is widely regarded as the most picturesque. The course is flat and traffic free, so you won’t have to worry about moving aside for anything but the other entrants, and the terrain is a mixture of paths, firm grass and road making it easy underfoot. The event will be chip timed so you can get an accurate time for your 10K run.
Run over two laps, the course has a water station half way round in case you need some refreshments, and it’s perfect for any friends and family members that want to come down and support you as the loop allows viewing at a number of locations. While you are running round the 10K course you will be able to spot wild deer and plenty of other wildlife in the park.
The park is also within walking distance from four London train stations – Teddington, Hampton Wick, Fulwell and Hampton – so it’s very accessible by public transport. After the race you could take in the delights of the surrounding area that has a distinct village feel, or even watch England take on Italy in the Six Nations that afternoon in nearby Twickenham.
RunThrough is a not for profit organisation that aims to donate any profits to fund athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds around the UK. The RunThrough team is made up of a small bunch of ex-junior international athletes who are aiming to provide low-cost local races. The Bushy Park 10K will cost just £8 for club members and £10 for non club members.
