Run in beautiful surroundings with the National Trust

In the summer weather there's nothing better than getting out for a walk, jog or run in some of the beautiful open spaces the English countryside has to offer.

The National Trust looks after some of the most impressive open spaces in the UK and has teamed up with Run England to offer opportunities for you to sample them.

Whatever your ability, the National Trust's groups and 3-2-1 routes are there for you to join in with. There are registered running groups at Morden Hall in London, Kingston Lacy in Dorest, Woolacombe in North Devon, and Gibside in Gateshead - which started just last Friday and had 13 beginner runners turn up.

There are running groups set to start in the next few weeks at Nostell Priory near Wakefield (pictured), Attingham Park in Shropshire, Lyme Park, Manchester, and Leigh Woods in Bristol. These groups all welcome beginners.

3-2-1 routes have also been set up at Kingston Lacy, Morden Hall, Styal Estate near Manchester, Saltram in Plymouth and the beautiful Clumber Park near Worksop in Nottinghamshire.

The National Trust also hosts seven parkruns at Sheringham, Wimpole Estate, Killerton, Plym Valley, Tredegar House, The Leas and Clumber Park.

Find out more about opportunities to go walking, jogging or running at National Trust sites at nationaltrust.org.uk/running.
