Last month saw the launch of the Black Country Run England programme, thanks to funding from Sport England which is helping County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) in England get more people into running.

Run by the Black Country BeActive Partnership in partnership with Dudley Healthy Towns, Sandwell Leisure Trust, Walsall MBC, Wolverhampton College and Wolverhampton Partnerships and School Sports, the programme will see new beginner running groups created across the Black Country.

It is aiming to develop 20 new running groups across the four boroughs to increase the number of once a week beginner runners to 1350 by next year. In addition to this the programme will also see 20 new group leaders trained to deliver the sessions and lead these new groups.

The launch included a number of family orientated fun activities as well as offering information on how and where people can get involved in the new running groups across the Black Country.
