Runners from the Petts Wood running group in London will be taking part in a new charity event at Crystal Palace this weekend. Good luck to the runners from Run England!

Around 15 members of the group will be participating in the new Age UK (formerly Age Concern) 10K - one of six exciting new races over the distance taking place throughout the country that are suitable for all from walking groups to serious athletes.

By taking part, participants can test their fitness in the knowledge that they're also raising some vital funds to help Age UK prevent avoidable deaths amongst older people this winter.

If you are interested in entering in the Age UK event this Sunday, then please visit the website for full details and online entry at http://www.ageuk.org.uk/10k.

Run England members can enter at the reduced price of £13.95.

This particular race has been selected by Petts Wood Runners to be part of their Grand Prix series - a handicap competition open to all members of the club - to encourage the new members who have progressed from the Run England beginners group to take part.

Members of the Petts Wood Beginners group recommend the club as being ‘friendly, enthusiastic and supportive’ and a club that  ‘encourages new members to progress at their own pace.’

If you would like more information about Petts Wood’s Run England beginners group then please visit their webpage.

Good Luck from Run England to all the participants taking part on Sunday!
