On Sunday 18th September Run England members in Newham will run in the Credit Suisse Beckton Park Challenge along with many others - and the first 100 locals to enter receive free entry!

Run England Group Leaders will be leading the warm up at the event and encourage runners on the course. Running groups are being offered leading up to the event and existing Run England members from groups in Newham will be taking part.

Three race distances are on offer for participants, including a 3km junior run and 5km and 10km events for older participants. The 3km is free to enter and open to participants aged nine to 13 years. The first 100 people to enter the longer events who live in any of the six Host Boroughs of the London 2012 Games will be entitled to free entry into either the 5km or 10km runs.

The event has been set up to create awareness of, and improve access to, sporting activities in East London to capitalise on and create a London 2012 Olympic legacy.

Finishers will receive an event t-shirt, medal and membership to Run England if not already a member. Discounted entry is also available to members of UKA affiliated clubs.

The event is co-funded by Credit Suisse, and by the East End Road Runners via a Sport England Sportsmatch award. The Challenge is further supported by Run England, the Run! Project, the London Borough of Newham and the Host Boroughs of the London 2012 Games.
