The British Heart Foundation's ‘Hearty Lives Hull’ project recently ran a Leadership in Running Fitness course and trained 15 volunteers to help assist with the delivery of running groups in the area.

The project is looking for more Run England Group Leaders in the area who are interested in attending the groups or volunteering with the project.

They meet on a weekly basis and are growing week by week and have seen many of the members begin running every Saturday in the city’s Hull Park Run for the first time.

It aims to educate, motivate and challenge the population of Hull to aspire to better heart health and will offer a range of fun, community-based activities to help people get more active and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

The running groups meet as follows:

  • Tuesday – Ennerdale Leisure Centre 6:30pm
  • Tuesday – Costello Stadium 7pm
  • Wednesday – Woodford Leisure Centre 6:30pm

Group Leaders who are interested should contact Andy McKee on (01482) 318008 or email andrew.mckee@hullcc.gov.uk.
