Northants race a sweltering success

Sweltering temperatures earlier in the month brought out many spectators and runners alike for the Northamptonshire Sports Run ’11.

Now in its third year, the event attracted nearly 2,500 participants who took part in either the 10k or 5k race through the town centre.

Of these, 112 Run England members and 17 Group Leader from 16 local running groups took part – and all completed the distance, despite the unseasonal temperatures!

Out of the 16 teams that competed in the 5k ‘team challenge’, Parklands Jog and Run group finished a magnificent second.

A huge well done goes out to all the running groups who completed The Run – a great achievement for both members and Group Leaders!
