RunTogether member Jennet Ingram was nominated by her Run Leader Alice Welch from RunTogether running group Alice In Runderland.

Our September winner won a large Kukri kit bag, ideal for carrying running shoes and kit in its multi storage compartments.

Jennet told us:

"I'm absolutely thrilled to have won this Kukri bag as the Run Together runner of the month for September. It's going to be a great addition to my ever-expanding sports kit!”

Jennet joined the Alice in Runderland local running group 12 months ago and has gone from strength to strength and now manages 5k easily. Alice her Run Leader describes herself as a “Very proud coach [Jennet is] not a fast runner but a tenacious one!”.

Just keep going

Previously, Jennet may have said she’s not a runner. After wondering for a while how to start running, she found one of our RunTogether running groups. Now she attends weekly sessions every Wednesday morning at her local running club. She’s completed a 5km track challenge, for her local primary school fundraiser in blistering heat and completed the Race for life. Jennet said she was totally surprised to be chosen for this award.

"I don't class myself in the same league as many of my fellow Alice in Runderland / RunTogether runners, but I keep going weekly which is why I was chosen - for persistence and consistency. What I love about going to the RunTogether running group is the feeling of being part of a team. Running with others is so much more enjoyable than running solo, in my opinion. Now I have learned how to start running, I attend sessions regularly as much for this reason - socialising - as for the usual reason - getting fit”.

Jennet encourages anyone who hasn’t joined a local running club to consider doing so. "It is the most fun way I can think of taking regular exercise."
