Can you and your Run Leader host a #RunAndRevise session for students?

#RunAndRevise

During the week of 13-19 May, we are encouraging young people to #RunAndRevise to take a break from exam revision and improve their mental wellbeing through running one+ mile and have a chat as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. Be part of this new campaign by asking your Run Leader to register a run for 16-18 or 18-25 year olds.

RunTogether Run Leaders are able to schedule their sessions now and then tag their run with #RunAndRevise from the start of April.

How to protect yourself from injury with DW Fitness First

Strength is the name of the game when it comes to making yourself resistant to injury. And the key is to understand how your body works — or, more importantly, how it should work.

By making minor adjustments to your posture and strength, you can ensure everything works pretty much as it should. But because we spend our lives today working on computers and sat at our desks, we are all prone to incorrect posture, poor hip strength, lack of mobility and so on.

Mental Health Champion T-Shirts

We are so thrilled to announce that we now have 593 Mental Health Champions, across  England Athletics affiliated clubs and RunTogether groups. The role of a Mental Health Champion is to support people to access the mental wellbeing benefits of running, remove stigma and get people talking about mental health.

As a thank you for the great work Mental Health Champions are doing and to help raise awareness of #RunAndTalk we asked you back in December to send in your orders for a FREE t-shirt.  We have sent out 363 t-shirts in total and you should have now received yours in the post.

Missed the deadline?  Not to worry, email us here, with your full name, address and t-shirt size by Friday 29th March.
One order per group, t-shirts  only for appointed Mental Health Champions.

We would love to see pictures of you wearing your t-shirts, please tag us on Facebook and Instagram or Tweet us. Use the hashtags #MentalHealthChampions and #RunAndTalk

Group of the Month: RunTogether Power Runners

This group of runners met through the C25K programme and continued to run together to work towards their goals such as 10K races. As the group grew, Mother and Daughter, Sandra and Simone wanted to ensure the sessions were organised, supportive and encouraging. Daughter Simone went on to qualify as a LiRF Leader and joined force with one other friend to become Run Leaders and create the group, RunTogether Power Runs. They have completed two, six week running courses one for improvers and one for intermediates and they are set to offer a beginners course in Spring. As Sandra and Simone are both Mental Health Champions they work with their local Mind charity and host weekly #RunAndTalk sessions, which are proving increasingly popular.

The group use both the Run Leader and Runner Apps and say it is ‘fantastic for keeping everything organised and making sure everyone is checked in and can be contacted if necessary'. They hope their group grows from strength to strength and so do we! Congratulations all, keep up the great work!

Nominate your group to be within a chance of winning in April!
