A new ten week Walk to Run programme is being introduced in both Whitby and Scarborough by the Active Coast & Country Community Sports Activators.

The sessions are suitable for all participants and the group will achieve together no matter what your fitness level is, with the social aspect key to this activity. Running is a low cost way of reaching your daily 30 minutes of physical activity and there are welcoming running clubs in the area for those who want to continue in the sport. The sessions can also help you meet a personal goal i.e. taking part in the Cancer Research UK Race for Life.

Running is a great aerobic activity which can help weight loss and develop general well being. This programme is one of the many sporting opportunities introduced by Active Coast & Country and their Community Sports Activators, which aims to encourage local residents into sport and to help them improve their health and get more people more active.

This session forms part of the England Athletics Run England programme and all the Activators have achieved the Leadership in Running and Fitness qualification in order to deliver the sessions. For further details on the Run England programme please visit www.runengland.org

This Walk to Run course is for adults and costs £15 for 10 weeks which includes a free t shirt on course completion. Each session lasts between 40 and 60 minutes and places are limited.
