Park-goers enjoyed sunny skies when they were joined by staff from NW NHS trusts as they took part in their annual NHS Games 5K.

Now in its third year the 5K event continues to grow, attracting over 150 participants in 2014 with support from the GetGoing! Campaign and England Athletics.

The route used by the run is proving to be a great success as more and more #‎GetGoing groups, events, local clubs and residents are making the most of the permanently marked Run England 3-2-1 route which was realised in partnership with Liverpool public Health, Run England and The Friends of Prince Park.

The 5K event was supported by GetGoing! Activator for Liverpool Craig Blain who is working to develop more opportunities for beginner runner to GetGoing in the city by training more leaders, setting up new groups focusing on supporting beginner running as well as marking routes in all parks across Liverpool - just like the Princes Park 3-2-1 Route.
