Mara Yamauchi and Steve Vernon will share their experiences as international endurance athletes and more recently as coaches and mentors at an upcoming England Athletics marathon workshop.

Mara - who has written a blog for Run England over the last six months - will talk about her progression from 10K club runner to international marathon runner whilst Steve will share a case study of Andy Davies, Welsh Commonwealth Games marathon runner.

There will also be a question and answer session, and strength and conditioning coach and endurance runner Tim Egerton will deliver a practical workshop looking at physical preparation for performance at all levels.

The course will take place at Edge Hill University in Lancashire, on 25 January 2015, from 10am to 3pm. It is free of charge for those who are part of England Athletics’ LCDP programme with places booked on a first come first served basis. The course is suitable for all levels of coaches and leaders. For more information or to book your place contact Sarah Friday on sfriday@englandathletics.org or 07912 070640.
