Running Group Leaders needed in Oxford!

Oxford City Council are keen to start new Beginner Jogging Groups in the city through their GO Active and Active Women projects, but need enthusiastic, reliable and qualified LiRF Leaders like you!

Groups will be registered and promoted through the Run England Group Finder map and you will have access to useful information, resources and tools on the Group Leader Area of the website.

You will receive support from our local staff and we will send you our quarterly eLeader newsletter which goes out exclusively to Run England Group Leaders. From time to time we will also offer you additional training and development opportunities and Group Leader benefits.

Once set up, it is worth encouraging your group members to become individual members of Run England. This will allow you to add them to your Group Register and see them gain the benefits of individual membership. Our communications with them will underline the benefits of them being a part of your official Run England group. You can sign up to Run England at www.runengland.org/signup.

If you would like to help others discover how easy, fun and rewarding running can be by leading a supportive, weekly jogging group then please contact Vicki Galvin, GO Active Coordinator on 01865 252720 or vgalvin@oxford.gov.uk.

If you're not already a LiRF qualified leader but leading a running group interests you, why not consider going on the course? Once qualified, you'll have the skills and insurance needed to deliver fun and safe sessions to groups of runners with different abilities, including new runners and those who already run but want to progress. Find out more about the LiRF course at www.runengland.org/lirf.
