Group Leader Sam Palmer wins England Athletics national volunteer award
19 October 2014

England's winning volunteers were announced on Saturday night at the England Athletics annual Hall of Fame and National Volunteer Awards gala evening.
The evening celebrated the work of our volunteers across England and inducted some of our Athletics Greats. Sam Palmer (Sevenoaks Ladies' Joggers Group) won the Run England Group / Leader of the Year.
Sam Palmer has encouraged many hundreds of women to take up running through her Sevenoaks Ladies Joggers group which is registered with Run England. Various groups run regularly, from beginners too steady runners, with different times available so all are catered for. All of this is carried out with humour and genuine regard for each individual in a very friendly, social club.
She commented, "I am very proud to have won this award for Sevenoaks Ladies’ Joggers who aim to make jogging achievable for women of all ages and abilities, which in turn will hope to set a good example to their children and grandchildren who may become our star athletes of the future."
