Last week saw the start of Jantastic 2014 and the free running challenge designed to inspire all ages, abilities and aspirations to start or continue running in 2014 has got off to a flying start!

45,000 runs were logged in the first week 20,000 runners, with 1,600 teams taking part, including 43 Run England teams!

Jantastic's Martin Yelling wrote on the Jantastic website: "When we first came up the idea of Jantastic we wanted to help runners achieve something together that would boost their own and other’s motivation, that would help them be more consistent with their running and that would help them strive towards their personal goals.

"When people do things with a common goal and bucket loads of collective enthusiasm and determination incredible things happen and so we’ve seen with the first week of Jantastic 2014."

The Jantastic team have also been busy working on new site developments which are now live.

The first is 'Team Talk', which enables you to chat with your teammates meaning you can give other people encouragement, update them on how the team is doing, or chat about any other subject!

Secondly, you can now win Jantastic Challenge badges by logging your runs. As you progress through Jantastic you'll automatically earn different challenge badges to reward your achievements!

Well done to everyone who has got involved in Jantastic so far and we hope you are enjoying the new website features!
