Save the Children have launched a new way for people to support their work through a new fitness class with all the proceeds going to help children around the world.

Run England is working with GO Active to get people more active in and around Oxford and GO Active have now teamed up with Save the Children to deliver the first Born to Run session this Saturday 21 January at 10am.

So if you’re in the area and are interested in running, get down to Horspath Athletics Ground and try out a 45 minute class of jogging, hops, stretches and strides.

All that is asked for is a minimum donation of £2 per person and in return participants get a fun workout and can rest assured that their money is going to a worthy cause.

The session is suitable for adults of any ability and all funds go towards Save the Children’s new ‘No Child Born to Die’ campaign which aims to dramatically cut the number of children under the age of five dying from simple complications such as pneumonia and diarrhoea.

Save the Children works in over 50 countries around the world, including the UK, focusing on four key issues: education, health, tackling hunger and child protection. The charity also responds to emergencies, helping families to rebuild their lives following natural disasters like the flooding in Pakistan or the earthquake in Haiti.

So why not start the year on a high by getting fit, making new friends and helping to save millions of children’s lives?

People that pre-book will receive a free water bottle and t-shirt on the day from GO Active.
