Run England continues to grow
24 August 2011
A huge thank you must go out to all of Run England's members and Group Leaders who have helped us reach a membership of more than 8,000 people in our first four months!
Run England is the official England Athletics recreational running project which aims to get more people running regularly, regardless of age, fitness level, aspiration, background or location.
There have been plenty of updates from new running groups that have been set up as well as news from more established groups that are continuing to grow over the last few months.
Run England project leader Geoff Wightman said: "It's great to see more people enjoying running, especially as we've seen a number of new regional activators spreading the word locally in recent weeks.
"It's also great to see just how enthusiastic all our new members have been in not only getting fitter but also enjoying the social aspect of getting out there and running with the local community.
"As always, we're also highly appreciative of all the Group Leaders out there whose knowledge and commitment is helping more and more people get into regular running and improve their fitness in a fun, sociable environment."
