New running group set up in Manchester

A new running group – the Sportcity Jogging Group for All – has been set up at the Manchester Regional Athletics Arena.

The group will meet in the arena’s reception area every Thursday and set off at 6.30pm. Group leader Anthony Taylor is an experienced runner and works at the Sportcity Gym as a Fitness Instructor. Anthony set the group up to give people the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of running out in the fresh air with the added support of running together in a group.

It’s open to everyone, so you don’t have to be a gym member to run along and it won’t cost you a penny! All abilities are catered for and runs will start short and aim to help you build up your stamina and then increase distance as the weeks go on.

Whether you wish to run socially, want to improve your fitness or even if you’re aiming for something bigger such as the Bupa Great Manchester 10k in May – this is the ideal environment for you to get the most out of your running!

Liam Browne, Run England Local Activator for Manchester, said: “This should prove to be a very successful group as in their first couple of runs they have had up to 15 attending. It will also be a good opportunity for parents to get running whilst their children are training.”
