We recently passed the 10,000 members mark, so a huge thanks for everyone who has signed up to become a part of Run England and to all the group leaders out there making a difference. To celebrate, we promised an adidas miCoach system to our 10,000th member...

And the winner is... Andrea White, a part time government analyst and mum of 19 month old boy, Finn! A big well done to Andrea and thanks for joining us!

Andrea joined Run England after moving to Petts Wood with her husband and son. On moving there she saw an advert for beginners’ running with Petts Wood Runners and decided to give it a go.

She is now building up to running a 5km race in Bromley in mid-November with help from the Petts Wood Runners whose beginner sessions have encouraged her and helped her to progress from being able to run for six minutes to twenty minutes in a very short space of time. She aims to complete the 5km in a month from now without stopping which would be a fantastic achievement.

Andrea runs with her mum, Teresa, and they spur each other on. After hearing the news that she had won an adidas miCoach, she spoke about what Run England meant to her: “Run England is really useful for finding running groups – especially for beginners who might feel intimidated joining a new group when they don't have much experience.

“There are lots of beginners running groups to help get you running. I like the idea of the Run England 3-2-1 markers, especially to look up when holidaying so I can keep up with my training.

“For me, winning will be completing the 5km race in November – something I wouldn't have thought possible just one month ago!”
