Starting at Woodthorpe Grange, the route follows the path past the play area and cafe, turning right before the Mansfield Road entrance. The route then follows the grassy tracks and paths up to the sunken gardens and back to the start. The route includes a couple of inclines and a mixture of surfaces including hard path, grass and dirt.
