About this run route

Start / Finish

Corner of the visitor car park by a marked gate

Welcome to a Trust10 trail run route, part of the National Trust's trail running initiative. This route is open during normal visitor opening hours and you will enjoy amazing views of the parkland and ancient woodland.

Why not meet friends and stay and wander through our beautiful landscaped gardens, or explore the house – a former country retreat for a grand collection of royalty, politicians and socialites or maybe just relax and refuel at the Granary Café with a cup of tea and something sweet https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/polesden-lacey National Trust members just need to show their membership cards at reception and non-members will need to pay to enter the garden and house.

Points to note:

  • Please be aware of different surfaces when running including mud, gravel, and uneven ground and as the estate is open, you may encounter cars along the drive. There are also a couple of gates that need to be closed after you pass through them.
  • This is a permanent waymarked route and there will not be any marshals. Please look out for your fellow runners if they are struggling or become injured.
  • Dogs on leads are welcome to join you. Please pick up any dog waste and be aware this is a working estate and livestock will be in the fields. If you know that this could be a problem please think of other runners and perhaps leave your dog at home.
  • If you have checked out the course beforehand and are an experienced running buggy runner and fancy the challenge of negotiating our T10 course, please start at the back and exercise caution when you are overtaking at ‘pinch points’ and with hills.
  • Toilets facilities by the Coffee Shop will be open from 8.30am.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.

Join us on the fourth Sunday of the month for our free 10k trail run.

Suitable for all abilities, the 10K circular route takes you through the Polesden Lacey Estate and Ranmore Common. This is an informal run and a great way to get out and enjoy the countryside with amazing views of the parkland and ancient woodland.

Run starts at 9am from the main visitor car park.
