About this run route

Start / Finish

Tilgate Park – by the Boat House

The route is made up of two loops, one approx. 1.6km and one approx. 3.5km together making a 5km route. The running route is used as a parkrun every Saturday morning and has been officially measured as a 5km route. The route is mainly on paths with a short part of the run on gravel. The 1.6km route is mainly flat around the lake whilst the 3.5km route goes down a short sharp decline around the back of the walled garden. The starting point is next to the Boat House by the lake but the route can be picked up from any point by following the 3-2-1 markers. Parking is at the top of the park with accessible parking at the bottom, north end of the lake. The route is set within a beautiful public park with a children’s play area, bar/café, walled garden and neighbouring golf course, so it can be busy during the summer months. Some sections of the route may accumulate mud and puddles during and following rain.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
