About this run route

Start / Finish

East Wickham Open Space

This route follows the tarmac path which creates a loop around the outside edge of the park. The path is not very wide, but it is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. However, there are inclines on the route, particularly where it runs between the park entrances from Bournewood Road and Highbanks Close, off  Upper Wickham Lane.
Along the route are a variety of exercise stations with diagrams for the suggested exercise. Run England 3-2-1 route markers are included on the posts close to the exercise equipment and there are also ground graphic markers along the looped route mostly at the various entrances around the park. There are also a number of rest benches along the route.
There are a variety of species of wildlife which make their home in the park and also a volunteer conservation group which works to support their habitats in a number of areas around the park; the route passes close to several of these areas. Further details can be found online at the Bexley Council website.
East Wickham Open Space has a children’s play park, basketball court and skateboard area, but does not have any facilities such as toilets or refreshments.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
