About this run route

Start / Finish

At the entrance from the car park into the water park

The Chorlton Water Park 3-2-1 route comprises of three separate, marked and enjoyable routes of varying distances. It is a very popular park amongst walkers and runners and all routes provide something for all abilities with route 1 being the shortest, flattest, and easiest route in terms of surface, and therefore most suitable for push chairs. Route 2 becomes more challenging underfoot, with off road sections but could still be manageable for push chairs. Route 3 is again accessible for all but becomes much more undulating in places with some trickier paths to manage. The off road nature of all routes means that it can become muddy and slippery in wet conditions. There is a car park at the entrance to the park.

Route 2 crosses the river Mersey into Kenworthy Woods where the paths turn into a mixture of grass, gravel, woodland, and compact surfaces. There are sections that are a little uneven and rocky underfoot, along with narrow paths and a short steep rise – so plenty of variety! There are also some secluded sections through Kenworthy Woods.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
