The Chorlton Park 3-2-1 route comprises of three separate easy access, accurately marked and enjoyable routes of varying distances. All three routes start and finish in the same place and are set within the boundaries of Chorlton Park, using the main paths within the park and are generally flat and suitable for wheel/push chairs.
Route 1 is a short run suitable for complete beginners to attempt to run round without stopping or can be used for more experienced runners as interval training. It is completely flat and there are one or two sharp turns particularly at the start and towards the end of the run with the paths also being quite narrow in places.
Route 2 is exactly 1km long and follows the “Trim Trail” route already set-up in the park. Again it is a good starting point for complete beginners aiming to complete a full km without stopping or for more experienced runners as a chance to time themselves over the km distance. The route is completely flat with one or two narrow paths near the start and finish.
Route 3 Follows the outer paths within the park and is the longest circular route that can be run within the park. It is still suitable for the complete beginner and anyone just looking to run laps of the park in the furthest possible distance. There is one slight incline and narrow paths around the start and finish.
Please note:
The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
