About this run route

Start / Finish

Tin Church: Church of St Mary the Virgin

This is a wonderful short course along National Trust pathways in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

For a small fee you can park in the Low Newton Car park. The route begins beside the tin church which is just down the hill from the car park (you will pass it on your left on your approach)

The route is clearly marked out with Run England 3-2-1 way markers and starts to the right of the tin church. Go through the gate next to the 'National Trust Newton Point' sign over a cattle grid and along an old military road. The road takes you over a couple of cattle grids to the coast where you bear right to join the coastal path and run alongside the sea to the beautiful bay at Low Newton-by-the-sea.
The ground is uneven beyond the military road and therefore not suitable for wheelchairs. There are obstacles which would make the route difficult for most pushchairs too (there is a stile to navigate and there is often cattle grazing on the uneven terrain).  There is a short hill to run up at the end back to the car park.

Please note:

The layout and usage of the marked 3-2-1 running routes is the responsibility of the local authority or further education establishment that purchases the route marking signs and usual health and safety and duty of care considerations should be followed in laying out open, even-surfaced, easy-to-follow, safe, accurate, well lit routes at all times - with the landowner’s permission. RunTogether will not provide materials with which to attach the markers.
