Helping 150 new runners every day!

We're delighted to let you know that since the beginning of the year, you have been part of providing over 22,000 people with access to the social and safety benefits of running as part of a group (virtual high five!). With around 150 new runners registering to take part in RunTogether Group runs every day, we're keen to let your experienced runners know how they can train as a run leader, either helping you to increase your group's capacity or starting a group near their home or workplace. Further details below...

It's also great to see over half of all RunTogether Groups are using the Run Leader App to check-in runners before the start of sessions, giving you a record of who is running in your group and allowing hundreds of runners to be awarded their first #RunTogetherMedal. Downloading the app is really quick and easy.

Do you have a potential leader in your group?

To make sure there are enough leaders for runners to find a local group with space at their session, we're asking you, our experienced leaders, to be on the look-out for potential new leaders within your groups. You may want to add new leaders to your group to keep the leader to runner ratio around the recommended 1:12 or your runners may wish to set up a group nearer to their home or workplace.

#RunTogetherMedal Update
You may have seen our motivational ambassador, Jessie Pavelka, out presenting medals at group runs over recent weeks. If your group didn't get a visit this time, rest assured that all other successful pledgers will receive their shiny blue #RunTogetherMedal in the post over the next two weeks.

Don't forget to share your medal selfie with us on social media!

Group of the Month: RunTogether Moorside Park Running Club

We're delighted to name RunTogether Moorside Park Running Club as Group of the Month. They've made fantastic use of the website functions by listing sessions and adding news & testimonials from runners. They're also checking runners in to their sessions, giving them a record of who is at each session.

Take a look at their group pages here

Exciting partnership between RunTogether & Race for Life

Each year more than 500,000 women take part in more than 300 Race for Life events across the UK – either as 5K, 10K or Pretty Muddy obstacle course runs. Many are new or potential new runners so to support them on their journey Race for Life will be including the RunTogether Groups search box on each of their event pages.

As a thank you to you for supporting these new runners, Cancer Research UK are offering you and your runners discounted entry to their Race for Life events.

Further details later this month...

RunTogetherSocial
We love seeing what RunTogether Groups are up to on social media. Here's a great example from RunTogether Kettering Town Harriers.

Their Facebook page has RunTogether in the title and uses the logo; they are also sharing relevant content from the national account. Keep up the great work!

Old Contacts

As we have given previous Run England registered runners three months to accept their invitation to move their registration across to RunTogether, any runners who haven't accepted will be deleted from the database and we will not contact them again. Obviously, anyone who missed this transfer window can still register as a new user with RunTogether.

App Updates

We've recently made the following updates to the Run Leader app:

Added medical information

Enabling Run Leaders to verify when a new runner has verbally agreed to the terms of and conditions before receiving an email invite to join RunTogether.

#RunAndTalk a Huge Success

Hundreds of runners enjoyed taking part in over 95 #runandtalk organised runs between 28th January – 3rd February in support of Time to Talk Day.  England Athletics encouraged groups, clubs and mental health ambassadors  to hold #runandtalk events to improve mental well-being through running and break down the stigma associated with mental health by getting people talking about it. Walking, running & lots of chatting were the order of the day with many groups making the most of the social side of running and enjoying a cuppa and cake afterwards.

Look out for news of another #runandtalk event later in the year!
