#BeTheBestYou in 2019!

Last month we announced that the RunTogether team here at England Athletics was embarking on a runner recruitment campaign to spread the word about the benefits of running in a group, especially at this time of year when we wish to step up our efforts to be healthy and happy and ultimately be 'the best versions of ourselves'.

We are pleased to say it looks like we are striking a cord and we had several thousand new runners sign up already! That said, we won't be stopping the campaign as it is our goal to have some 10,000 new runners join us across the country by the Spring.  And hopefully this will mean you will be meeting new RunTogether enthusiasts during your group runs.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your participation to date, and we wish you the very best for 2019 and your continued enjoyment of RunTogether.

Six most common problems runners face and how to solve them

Running has never been more popular and it’s easy to see why. It’s a brilliant way to stay healthy and is a great way to push yourself beyond what you thought was possible.

To help you keep on track with your running goals and to get you marathon ready if this is your goal; our partner DW Fitness First has put together a list of what you’ll be up against and how to best tackle any issues you’ll face while training or during the big day.

You can also complement your running with a gym session at DW Fitness First. Get your free 3 day pass by clicking here

#Run&Talk supports Time to Talk Day - 7th February

During the week of 2nd-8th February 2019, England Athletics supported by Mind, the mental health charity, are encouraging people to #RunAndTalk to improve their mental wellbeing through running and to break down the stigma associated with mental health by getting people talking about it.

Why not join us by registering an organised run with your RunTogether group? Simply tag a run during the week of the campaign with the #RunAndTalk tag (at the bottom of the page when you create or edit a run).

You are also invited (but this is optional) to post a photo of you taking part and join in the conversation on social media using #RunAndTalk.

Group of the Month: Kingsway Runners

Congratulations RunTogether Kingsway Runners , #bluearmy

One of your runners, Jenny, got in touch to tell us why you are all deserving winners!

After having joined in August 2018, due to needing some running support and motivaton, Jenny has been welcomed by friendly and helpful runners and Run Leaders. She says 'support is given at events and during group runs and anyone that cannot run for any reason will be there supporting. Race leaders listen, are so positive and no one gets left behind. Thank you #bluearmy you are all amazing'.
