Bexley Mencap's innovative RunTogether keep fit scheme for people with learning disabilities has been selected by Tesco as one of their 3 good causes for Superstores in Bexley during Feb 2017.

The scheme, which was initially set up as a pilot project with England Athletics, has now been running for over 2 years (excuse the pun) and members train one evening a week.

Improved Health and wellbeing as well as better community engagement are just some of the areas of positive feedback reported since the sessions began.  Members have gone on to regularly take part in local parkruns and colour runs and will be running fun runs and up to 10k in races planned for this summer.

Pictured is member Matt Lett - who is training for a local 10k race this summer - casting his vote for RunTogether and better health and wellbeing through keeping fit and active in the local community.
