Group Leader Reminders

Coffee_group_2.jpg

There are now approximately 2,400 registered Run England Groups, all led by qualified Group Leaders who we would like to thank for all their efforts in getting people running!

We also have a number of important reminders regarding updates and support that Group Leaders may find useful:

Group Register

From this week, members must be signed up to Run England in order to be added to Groups (previously non-registered runners have been added and appeared 'greyed out' in the register).

Run England’s Online Group Register gives Leaders of registered Run England Groups the ability to edit their group details, add group members and session registers.

Group Leaders can access their registers and add members and sessions by logging at www.runengland.org/login.

Group Leader Area

New marketing materials such as poster templates have been added to the Group Leader Area. This secure area of the website also has information for Group Leaders on licensing, insurance, health & safety and best practice, as well as advice for supporting disabled participants.

Group Leaders can access these resources by logging in at www.runengland.org/login. Keep an eye on these pages for further updates in the near future.

Your Licence

All Run England Group Leaders hold a valid, current licence and up-to-date DBS (formerly CRB) check. Without this, you will not be insured to lead. It is the responsibility of Group Leaders to ensure they have an up-to-date licence. For more information on licences and renewal, visit www.englandathletics.org/licences.

Coach development

England Athletics offers a number of great coach development opportunities for Group Leaders through our Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) course and Run Leader Workshops delivered through the Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP). Contact your local Run England team member for more.

Contacts

Our local support staff are on hand to offer advice and guidance to support Group Leaders with tasks such as setting up Groups, recruiting members and keeping registers. Our contact list has been updated, visit www.runengland.org/contact to find your local Run England team member.

Publicity

We are always looking for success stories from our Groups. If you or a Group member has a particularly good story to tell, please email 300-500 words of plain text and an image (dimensions of 300 x 200 pixels ideally) to runengland-online@englandathletics.org. We will endeavour to share as many stories as possible.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our Group Leaders and wish you the very best in leading your Groups!
